The design of the school was guided by requirement laid down by the Ministry of Education and Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan. Existing facilities were upgraded and new facilities were created in preparation for the school's transistion to single session. There was the addes challenge to amalgamate successfully both exisiting and new facilities.

Principal objectives of the school's design are to maximize and optimize exisiting available spaces, and at the same time providing a safer, more secured, stimulating and conducive environment for students, teachers, supporting staff and parents to engage in a variety of activities.
